Presbyterian College and head men’s basketball head coach Dustin Kerns announced the signing of guards Jordan Gibson (Bristow, Va.) and Kody Shubert (Maiden, N.C.) to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2018.

“I want to recognize our coaching staff, players, and many people on our campus that did a great job hosting Jordan, Kody, and their families while on campus,” said Kerns, who is in his first season leading the Blue Hose. “Our coaching staff has done a great job evaluating and recruiting student-athletes that fit Presbyterian College and our basketball culture. We team recruit and their efforts and due diligence has certainly paid off for the future of PC Basketball. Kody and Jordan bring character, scoring, and intangibles to our program instantly. We are delighted and ecstatic to sign Kody Shubert and Jordan Gibson.”

High School: Was a shooting guard and small forward in HS ... Was a member of the All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference teams in high school ... Averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game ... A member of the Honor Roll ... Was on the Students Activities Leadership Council ...

Personal: Born Jordan Anthony Gibson April 29, 2000 ... Son of Allen and LaTosha Gibson ... Chose PC because of the great education, great people, and great basketball organization ... Intends to major in Business Administration and Sports Management.

“Jordan Gibson is a versatile player who has a natural ability to score the ball in various ways. He has great size for a wing and can score in various ways. Jordan is a very good student and comes from an incredible family and parents in Allen and Latosha. Under Head Coach Marcus Lawrence at Stonewall Jackson High School, Jordan has flourished and it continued in AAU playing for Higher Level with Coach Darius Wilson. Jordan is a complete player and has a very high ceiling which will be a great addition to our program. He is a fine young man and we are delighted he will be at Presbyterian College. Kody Shubert - G - 5-11 - 160 - Maiden, N.C./Lincoln Charter

High School: Was a point guard in HS ... Team was state champion ... Shubert was honored with several accolades, earning spots on the All-State, All-District, and All-Conference teams ... Was named Conference Player-of-the-Year and will finish high school with over 2,000 career points ... Averaged 20.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game ... Clubbed with Team Charlotte, which was a national champion ... A member of the Beta Club, the Outdoor Club, and the YES Club …

Personal: Born Kody Daniel Shubert in Maiden, N.C. ... Parents are Mark and Kelly Shubert ... He chose PC because it felt right ... Everything about PC seemed right to him ... The coaching staff is great, the campus is beautiful, and it felt like home to him ... Major is undecided.

“Kody is a winner. He comes from a wonderful family and great parents in Mark and Kelly. He helped his High School team to its first State Championship in school history. He helped his AAU program to a National Championship. Kody has a sixth sense and it is winning. His High School Coach Brad Gabriel is an excellent coach and Kody has benefited from being under his guidance. The Blue Hose open the 2017 -18 season Friday, Nov. 10, at Tennessee. The 7 p.m., game can be seen live on the SEC Network+ and ESPN3. PC is at home against Johnson Nov. 11. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
