Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s basketball team wrapped up their first week of practice in preparation for the 2017-18 basketball season.
“I’m pleased with our progress to this point,” said coach Todd Steelman. “With so many young players, it is important to emphasize little details. It slows the process sometimes, but it helps us develop the habits we need to have success down the road. Our seniors have really had a strong impact on our newcomers as well and they are already benefitting from their leadership.”
The Blue Hose will look to seniors Cortney Storey, and Janie Miles to lead the way to a successful 2017-18 season. Storey and Wagner are the Blue Hose two leading returning scorers as they scored 12.6 and 8.6 points per game in the 2016-2017 season. Both Storey and Miles will likely surpass the 1,000-point mark during the season as well for the Blue Hose.
The season gets started with the Big South preseason media days on October 23-24 and then the regular season starts on November 10 when they travel out west. PC plays San Diego State on Friday and then UCLA on Sunday before returning home.
