Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s soccer team finished the 2016-2017 academic year with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.32 to earn the Team Academic Award given by the United Soccer Coaches association.

This is the second year in a row that the Blue Hose have been honored with the Team Academic Award. To be a recipient of the award you must finish with a team GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

A total of 816 teams were honored with this award, 283 men’s teams and 533 women’s teams. 197 schools had both the men and women honored with the award.

Of the 283 men’s teams to be honored four of them hale from the Big South as UNC Asheville, Radford and Winthrop join PC on the list.

The Blue Hose are 3-5-2 overall this season including 1-1-1 in the Big South. They are coming off a 1-1 tie with Radford on Wednesday night and travel to Longwood for a 3 p.m. game on Saturday.
