• The Blue Hose enter the weekend having won five of six in conference play, including a sweep of Wiinthrop last weekend.
• PC and Longwood have played just three series against one another in Big South action, despite PC being in the league since 2009. The Blue Hose took two of three from the Lancers last season, sweeping a doubleheader on Saturday with wins of 7-1 and 9-5.
• PC last travel to Farmville in 2014, with LWU taking two of three.
• PC leads the Big South hits (309) and sac bunts (32), while ranking third in batting average (.265). The Blue Hose also place second in the league in ERA (4.58) and opponent batting average (.259), while ranking tied for fourth in strikeouts (261).

Scouting Longwood
• The Lancers enter the weekend having lost five of their last six to compiled an 11-20 overall record with a 3-6 record in the Big South after a sweep at hands of Gardner-Webb last weekend.
• Longwood is batting .265 as a team with 60 doubles but only 11 home runs on the year. Sammy Miller leads the team with .314 average and 14 stolen bases, while Michael Osinksi has a team-high 28 RBIs.
• LWU holds a 5.29 ERA with opposing hitters managing a .280 average against them. They are paced by Michael Catlin with a 1.57 ERA in 14 appearances (two starts), holding opposing hitters to a .172 batting average.

Players Rank in Big South and Nationally
Cletis Avery and Tyler Weyenberg are tied for third in the Big South in sac bunts with seven apiece, which also ranks 28th nationally.
• Avery is second in the conference in stolen bases (15) and ranks 27th nationally.
Brian Kehner leads the Big South in strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.00) and walks allowed per nine innings (0.98). He ranks 14th and 16th in the nation in two categories, respectively.
• Kehner has totaled a conference-leading 48 strikeouts, while Hayden Deal has 47 to rank second in the league.
Ryan Hedrick is second in the Big South in saves (5) and ranks 61st nationally.
AJ Priaulx is fifth in the league with a .345 batting avg.
Nick Guimbarda is 10th in the Big South in doubles (9).
• Deal, Kehner and Eric Miles each have three wins on the season, tied for sixth in the Big South.

Deal Named Big South Pitcher of the Week
• Senior lefty Hayden Deal recorded his first complete game on Sunday against the Eagles, allowing just one run on one hit with seven strikeouts against one walk.
• The one hit for Winthrop as the fewest by opponent since 2011, when PC held Wofford to just one hit.
• Deal retired 12 of the first 13 that he faced, including 10 straight at one point, and faced just one over the minimum from the sixth inning on.
• The lefty earned his third win of the season to tie for the team lead and helped PC complete a road sweep of Winthrop.

Priaulx Named Big South Player of the Week
• Junior first baseman AJ Priaulx put together a nice week at the plate last week, going 6-for-16 (.375) with three runs, two doubles, a homer and six RBIs to lead the team to a 4-0 week.
• Priaulx recorded a hit and an RBI in all four games, including two multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games.
• He hit his second home run of the season on Tuesday at NC Central with a two-run shot that put PC in front 7-3 at the time.
• The lefty continues to lead the team with a .345 average on the year, while leading the team in extra-base hits (13) and RBIs (24).

Weekend Starters Strong in Big South Play
• In its three Big South series, PC starters have compiled a 2.61 ERA, allowing 16 earned runs in 64.1 innings of work.
Brian Kehner, Tanner Chock and Hayden Deal have combined to record 61 strikeouts against 14 walks, while holding opposing hitters to a .209 average during the nine games.
• Kehner has tossed 7.0 scoreless innings on two occassions during conference play, doing so against UNC Asheville and Winthrop.
• Chock worked a complete game against Radford on April 1, allowing just one run on five hits with a career-high 12 strikeouts.
• Deal then worked his first career complete game against Winthrop on April 9, allowing just one run on one hit with seven strikeouts against one walk.

Kehner Showing Strong Stuff
• Senior left-handed pitcher Brian Kehner went 25.0 straight innings without allowing earned run before surrendering an earned run in the fifth inning against Radford on March 31.
• He earned his first career shutout in his first 9.0 inning complete game vs. Army on March 17, allowing just two hits in a 9-0 victory with eight strikeouts against one walk.
• The senior captain then worked 7.0 scoreless innings of five-hit ball with eight Ks vs. UNC Asheville on March 24.
• Kehner worked 7.0 innings against Radford on March 31, allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts against no walks.
• He tossed 7.0 scoreless at Winthrop on April 7, allowing five hits with four strikeouts against two walks.
• Over his last four starts, Kehner is 3-0 with a 0.90 ERA, allowing just three earned runs in 30.0 innings pitched with 25 strikeouts against three walks.

Avery on 11-Game Hitting Streak
• Senior Cletis Avery is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak, going 14-for-42 (.333) with a double, a triple, a homer, 10 runs and nine RBIs.
• The right-handed hitter has raised his average to .269 on the year with hitting streak, while also going 5-for-6 on stolen base attempts over the 11-game stretch.
• On the season now, Avery has stolen 15 bases on the season to lead the team and rank third in the Big South in that category. He is also third on the team in RBIs (19).

Casaceli Collecting Hits
• Senior Glen Casaceli hit safely in nine straight games before going hitless on Saturday against Winthrop.
• The third baseman was 12-for-27 (.444) over his the nine-game streak with four walks, two doubles, six runs and three RBIs.
• He has raised his average from .196 to .284 during the seven-game streak.
• Casaceli batted out of the leadoff spot at NC Central for the first time this season, going 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Close Games the Norm
• PC has played 14 one-run games with eight others decided by three runs or less.
• The Blue Hose are 8-6 in one-run games with a 12-10 record in all games decided three runs or less.
• Six of PC’s nine Big South games to start the season have been decided by three runs or less, including all three games against Radford.
