FARMVILLE, Va. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches with a 6-1 win at Longwood on Sunday afternoon in Farmville, Va. The Blue Hose improved to 13-9 overall and remain unbeaten at 5-0 in Big South play.

The Blue Hose claimed the early lead by taking the doubles point. Brandon Mills and Alexander Lykou recorded a 6-1 on court two and Diego Manzanas and Jaime Castillo-Lopez followed suit with a 6-1 win on court three.

PC then claimed five of six singles matches en route to the 6-1 victory. Mills claimed his second straight win, going 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2, while Manzanas turned in a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Ben Kelley won his fifth straight match and 16th of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court four.

Alejandro Bejar and Castillo-Lopez each won their fifth straight matches as well, coming at No. 5 and 6, respectively. Bejar did not drop a game in the match, winning 6-0, 6-0, to reach his 10th victory of the season. Castillo-Lopez then wrapped it up with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six.

The Blue Hose sit atop the Big South standings as the only team without a loss, one game ahead of Campbell, who holds a 5-1 record. PC returns to action on Thursday with a home match against Winthrop at 3 p.m. With a win against the Eagles, PC will clinch at least a share of the Big South regular season title.
