NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team fell to Charleston Southern, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon in North Charleston, S.C. The Blue Hose fall to 11-7 overall and 1-4 in the Big South, while the Buccaneers win their 11th straight match to improve to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the Big South.

The Bucs took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Brittany Nuttall and Beth Taylor got things started with a 6-4 win on court three for PC but CSU evened up the doubles action with 6-2 on court two. Court one proved decisive in a very tight match but Charleston Southern was able to come out on top with a 7-6 advantage to take the 1-0 match lead.

Singles went in favor of CSU with the Buccaneers winning each of the six matches. PC battled throughout the match with courts three and five proving close. Taylor came up just short in set one, 7-6, before CSU’s Mi’Kola Cooper took set two, 6-0. Nuttall fell in a close match to Valeria Koussenkova, 6-4, 7-6.

PC is back in action on Saturday at Radford to wrap up a streak of four straight road conference matches.
