LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team fell to Liberty, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va. The Blue Hose fall to 11-6 overall and 1-3 in the Big South, while the Flames improve to 7-9, 4-0 in the Big South.

Doubles would go in favor of the Flames with wins on courts two and three. LU clinched the point with the first two victories, winning at No. 2, 6-2, and No. 3, 6-1. Nicole Croxton and Tracy Johnson ended doubles play with a 6-2 win on court one.

Liberty continued its success with wins in five of the six matches in singles play. PC took the top court, as Johnson earned her 13th singles victory of the season with a three-set win. The sophomore took set one, 6-4, with LU’s Rebekah Anderson taking the second set, 6-4. Johnson claimed the final set, 1-0 (11-9), in order to take the match.

The Blue Hose continue their conference stretch on Wednesday at Charleston Southern.
