ROCK HILL, SC. – The Presbyterian College softball team dropped a pair of games at Winthrop on Sunday at Terry Field. How It Happened

On Sunday, Winthrop started off with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Eagles then pulled away with a four-run fifth inning and won by mercy rule with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

In the second game of the day, the Eagles struck first as a runner on second advanced to third on a ground out, then scored on an error. The hosts pushed their lead to 5-0 with four runs in the bottom of the third. Winthrop’s Ashley Westbrooks highlighted the half inning with a long ball over the center field wall with runners on the corners. Anderson got the Blue Hose in the runs column with a solo shot to left in the top of the fourth. In the top of the sixth, Rogers scored from third as Presley Bissett grounded out to second. The Eagles added a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning before PC rounded out the scoring in the top of the seventh. Ashlyn Durham led off with a single up the middle and moved to second on a Kelsie Sanchez sacrifice. Durham then advanced to third on a passed ball and Rogers doubled to left to bring in the run.
