The Presbyterian College softball team dropped its final game of the Eagle Classic, falling to host Georgia Southern, 4-0, Saturday afternoon in Statesboro, Ga.

Defensively, Kelsie Sanchez recorded six putouts, with Gross added five.

Final Lines
PC finished with no runs off three hits and one error, while GSU had four runs off four hits and no errors.

Katie Brown fell to 5-4 on the year, going 6.0 innings and surrendering just four runs off four hits, with five strikeouts.

Raley (6-6) pitched 7.0 innings of shutout softball, giving up three hits while striking out nine.

Scoring the Game
The long ball proved to be the factor for the Georgia Southern, as the Eagles recorded three solo home runs, the first from Abby Broome in the second inning to give the hosts the early lead. Shelby Wilson put GSU up 2-0 with a solo shot in the fourth inning. Emily Snider’s shot in the sixth made it 3-0, with a sacrifice fly from Alesha Mann later that inning made it 4-0.

The four hits given up was the fewest for the Blue Hose in a loss this season.

For the Record
PC drops to 7-12, while Georgia Southern improves to 10-9.
