CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team dropped a home game to Saint Francis (Pa.) 16-3 on Sunday at Old Bailey Stadium.

Lauren Schaaf scored twice to lead the Blue Hose in the loss. The junior made five shots, putting three on target. She picked up a ground ball and added two draw controls and a caused turnover. Jess Goergen posted the other score, converting 1-of-3 shots.

Maura Talvacchia led PC on defense with five ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Kayla Koch recorded six saves in goal and added five ground balls in just under 53 minutes of work.

The Red Flash scored a pair of goals to start the game. Goergen got PC on the board with a goal at the 23:33 mark in the opening half. After the visitors pushed their lead to 5-1 with three unanswered, Schaaf found the back of the net with 18:18 to play. Four different Red Flash players then scored before Schaaf got her second goal with :15 on the clock and Saint Francis took a 9-3 lead at the break.

In the second 30 minutes of action, the Red Flash held the Blue Hose scoreless while adding another seven goals to their total. Sydney Davis led Saint Francis with five goals and three assists. The Red Flash outshot PC (28-14) and held the advantage in ground balls (25-20) and draw controls (14-7). The Blue Hose converted 20-of-25 (80.0 percent) clears.
