A five-run second inning proved to be the difference as the 10th-Ranked Georgia Bulldogs took the 8-0 win, in six innings, over the Presbyterian College softball team in game two action of a non-conference doubleheader in Athens, Ga.

Blue Hose Players of the Game
Megan Anderson provided PC with its first of two hits in the game, a single in the first inning. She also came within a foot of recording her first home run of the season, lifting a ball almost above the left field wall before it was snagged by Georgia’s Kendall Burton in the third inning. Presley Bissett added the second for PC with a double to center in the fourth inning, with Lindsay Harris recording the team’s third hit with a single in the sixth.

How It Happened
Alyssa DiCarlo opened the scoring for Georgia in the bottom of the first inning with a two-RBI double down the left field line. PC threatened in the top of the second after loading bases off two Georgia errors and a walk, with two outs on the board. The Blue Hose were unable to plate a run as the next batter struck out to end the inning.

An RBI single by Sydni Emanuel, a two-RBI single by Maeve McGuire, and a two-run home run by DiCarlo made it a 7-0 George lead after the second inning. Presley Bissett gave the Blue Hose their second hit of the night with a double to center with two outs in the fourth, but PC was unable to push her any farther. In the sixth inning Georgia plated a run off a PC error to come away with the 8-0 inning-shortened win.

Presley Bissett’s hit in the second inning was the second of the season and first double of her career.

Lindsay Harris earned her first hit of the season with her single in the sixth inning.
