ROCK HILL, SC – Presbyterian College sophomore Preston Meade finished 6th with a season’s best 26:58 at the 33rd Winthrop Adidas Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning at the Winthrop Lake Course.

Duncan Gotfredson (13th) improved from last week to run 28:07. Reid Haigler (17th) finished his first 8k in 29:52, a few strides before Chris Sacco (29:56). In fifth for PC, William Wise crossed in 23rd place with an improved time of 30:38. Alex Johnson (31:29) and Jake Birdsong (31:44) also competed for the Blue Hose.

In the team results, the Winthrop and USC Upstate squads tied for first in the Div. I race with 30 points each, but the Spartans won the tie breaker to claim the trophy. PC finished third with 71 points.

PC will have the next weekend off before returning to race at the Big South Preview Meet at the Asheville Christian Academy on Saturday, October 1. The men’s race is scheduled for 9:00 am.
