CLINTON, S.C. –The Presbyterian College women’s soccer team could not overcome an early 2-0 deficit and fell at home to Furman 3-0 on Tuesday night.

How it Happened

Furman scored the game’s first goal on a penalty kick in the 29th minute.  The Paladins added to their lead 24 seconds later on a long pass that resulted in a goal. PC had its best scoring opportunity when Mallory Hopkins chipped the ball into the top of the goal; however, the Paladin keeper was able to tip the ball into the post and out of danger. Furman scored the game’s third goal in the final minute of action to cap off the victory.


PC falls to 1-5-0, while Furman improves to 5-1-1.

Up Next

The team will embark on a three game road trip starting in Spartanburg where they’ll play USC Upstate on Friday evening. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
