Fordham survived several Presbyterian College rallies to take the three-set win in volleyball action in the final match of the Northeastern Invitational held Sept. 9-10, in Boston, Mass. PC dropped the sets by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.

How it Happened
Fordham opened the first set 5-0, and extended it to 12-7. PC rallied to a 17-17 tie, helped by four kills, two coming from Samantha Del Toro, and back to back service aces from Mikayla Register. Tied again at 18-18, Fordham took the lead off an Olivia Fairchild kill and built a 22-19 margin before Sierra Davis’ kill made it 22-20. Cutting it to two again, 24-22, off the Del Toro kill, Fairchild stepped up again with a kill herself to take the 25-22 win.

Fordham capitalized on three straight service aces to cut the margin to one, 15-14. PC extended its lead back to four at 18-14, but Fordham kept chipping away, eventually tying it at 21-21. Tied again at 22-22, Fordham rattled off three unanswered, in part to two kills, to take the 25-22 win.

Fordham stormed out of the gates, building a 21-9 lead in the third set. PC clawed its way back, helped by seven kills, five coming from Halle Tripp, to cut the score to six, 24-18.
