Shelby Petik enters her second year as an assistant coach at Presbyterian College in 2019-20, after previously serving as a volunteer assistant during the 2015-16 season.
From Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Petik helped lead Furman to a 41-15 record in 2018, and assisted NCAA Division II Coker College to a 41-17 mark in 2017. She concluded her playing career at PC as one of the most prolific hitters in program history, breaking career records in home runs and RBIs. She spent all four years in the top-five on the team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, and RBIs.
A multiple Big South Player of the Week and All-Conference honoree, she eclipsed 100 hits (179), 100 RBIs (122) and 100 runs (100) to become the first Blue Hose to reach the milestone in all three categories. She is also tops at PC in career doubles (39), home runs (24), total bases (294), and walks (85). Petik left as the PC leader in most games played (207) and started in every game she played in all four years.
A member of the Provost and Deans Lists, as well as the Psi Chi Honor Society, Petik graduated PC in May of 2015 with a degree in Psychology. She then completed a masters degree in collegiate athletic administration at Coker College in 2017.
