The Presbyterian College men's soccer team is set to face the University of Pittsburgh on Aug. 30 at Pittsburgh in the first official match of the 2014 season.
The Blue Hose kicked off the year on Aug. 25 with a 3-1 exhibition win over Erskine at home. Donovan Waddell (Columbia, S.C./Richland Northeast H.S.), Mason Lewis (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Myrtle Beach H.S.), and Chase Fearon (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West H.S.) each scored one goal apiece for PC. The Blue Hose ended the season last year with a 3-15-0 overall record and 1-9-0 in the Big South Conference.
Presbyterian will be Pittsburgh's first official game of the season. The Panthers are 2-1 in exhibition games- beating California (Pa.) 3-0 and Duquesne 2-0, and losing to Saint Fancis (Pa.) 0-2. The Panthers finished the 2013 season with an overall record of 1-11-4 and 0-9-2 in the ACC.
The Blue Hose will return home on Sept. 6 for the first official home game of the season against Wofford. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Martin Stadium.
