The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team, originally slated to open Big South tournament play Wednesday, April 16, against UNC Asheville, will now play Thursday, April 17, in Boiling Springs, N.C. First serve of the quarterfinal match is still set for 8 a.m. The change was made after rains washed out Tuesday’s action at host school Gardner-Webb.
Due to the changes, the league tournament Semifinal match has been pushed to Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m., with the Championship match now slated for Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m.
The Presbyterian College men's tennis team (24-6) finished the season with a 7-1 Big South record to claim its first-ever Big South Men’s Tennis Regular-Season Championship. The Blue Hose earned the No. 1 seed for the first time in school history.
PC beat preseason predictions that the team would finish fifth en route to Division I records in overall wins (24), Big South wins (seven), individual singles wins in a season (Grayson Mills, 22) and most doubles wins in a season (Diego Manzanas, 22).
Mills and Manzanas earned Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors, respectively, while Head Coach Adam Herendeen was named League Coach of the Year.
