SPARTANBURG, SC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team shot 584 (288, 296) during the first day of the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational on Monday to tie for 12th.
Redshirt-junior William Sigg (Augusta, Ga) tied for 17th at 141 (70, 71), a two-stroke improvement on his previous 36-hole best. Sophomore Davis Parker (Augusta, Ga) shot 145 (73, 72) and tied for 37th. Senior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, SC) shot 149 (75, 74) to tie for 61st. Junior Samuel Jackson (Pelion, SC) tied for 72nd at 151 (72, 79) while senior Colt Crymes (Athens, Ga) tied for 78th at 152 (73, 79).
Elon set the tournament’s 36-hole record of 546 (-30) behind individual leader John Somers who tied the tournament’s individual 36-hole record of 133 (-11). The Phoenix holds an 11-stroke lead over Lamar (557) while Wofford is third at 558.
The Blue Hose are only three strokes off last year’s total that saw them record the program’s DI 54-hole best at 869 (295, 286, 288) and claim sixth place.
