CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team will take the No. 10 seed into the 2014 Big South Women’s Tennis Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting at Gardner-Webb, the League announced on Sunday evening. PC will take on No. 7 UNC Asheville in the first round on Monday at 10 a.m.

PC (8-16-1, 0-9 Big South) will aim to avenge a 7-0 loss to Asheville in Wednesday’s regular season finale. The Bulldogs went 3-6 in the Big South this season.

Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) leads the team with 13 singles wins while Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) enters the week with nine on the season. deLoach’s 13 doubles wins paces the Blue Hose in that category and Courtney Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) checks in with 11 doubles victories while Alves and Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) each boast 10 on the year.

Charleston Southern finished the season with a 9-0 Conference record to garner the Big South Women’s Tennis Regular-Season Championship.

The 2014 Big South Women’s Tennis Championship begins Monday, April 14 with two matches, and concludes with the Championship contest on Thursday, April 17 in Boiling Springs, N.C.  The Big South’s tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship.  The Big South Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
