CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team continues its homestand on Tuesday by welcoming the Furman Paladins to the Templeton Tennis Courts for a 2 p.m. non-conference match.

A free adult tennis clinic will follow the match and free pizza will also be available as part of the program’s “Pack the Pondo” season-long promotion. Live updates will be available via Twitter @PackthePondo.

PC brings an 8-1 overall record into the week, having won its last five dual matches. The Blue Hose opened Big South Conference play on Saturday and knocked off Radford for the first time in program history, 5-2. PC swept doubles play and took four singles wins en route to the victory.

The Blue Hose boast a 37-15 record in singles play on the year, led by Grayson Mills (Lilburn, Ga.), Ben Kelley (Weaverville, N.C.) and Diego Manzanas (Madrid, Spain) with six wins apiece. Kelley and fellow freshman Ryan Miller (Norcross, Ga.) pace the team in doubles victories, with a 6-1 record each and a 3-0 record together. PC holds a 17-7 record in doubles matches on the season so far.

Furman enters the week at 5-3 after two convincing home wins over Big South teams Winthrop (5-2) and Gardner-Webb (6-1). The Paladins started off the spring with three straight wins before a trio of losses to ranked teams and Furman will look for their first road win of the year on Tuesday. Adam Steryous leads the team with five singles wins—all at the third flight—and the doubles pairing of Matt Browne and Ben Horst enter with a team-leading 4-2 record at the third flight.

Following Tuesday’s match, PC hosts Kennesaw State (10 a.m.) and Spartanburg Methodist (2:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
