CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian College volleyball players Andrea Barman (Middleton, Wis.) and Mary Trimpe (Normal, Ill.) were named to the Big South Conference Second Team All-Conference and Barman also earned a spot on the Big South Conference All-Academic team, the League announced this week.

Barman, a senior middle blocker, ranks second on the team in attacks (731), kills (301) and blocks (55). She also ranked in the top 10 in league play in service aces (0.28) after the regular season. Barman posted double-digit kills in the last eight of nine matches, including two of over 20, with her 22 effort against USC Upstate tying her career-high, and her 23 the very next match against CSU, breaking it.

Trimpe, a redshirt junior libero, led the league in service aces per set (0.44) and ranked 20th in the nation following the conclusion of the regular season. She ranked second in the conference digs per set (5.66) and eighth in the nation as well and recorded over 20 digs in 16 matches this season, which included seven of over 30. Trimpe recorded a career-high 38 digs twice this season and posted a career-best four services aces in four matches. The honor marks her second appearance on an All-Big South Conference team.

Barman boasts a 3.49 grade point average as a business major and earns her third straight appearance on the Big South Conference All-Academic Team.

Presbyterian College will host the 2013 Big South Conference Volleyball Championship presented by Musco Lighting. All games will be played at Templeton Center, beginning with Thursday’s quarterfinals.
