Blue Hose Head up to Liberty

The Presbyterian College football team plays its first road game in three weeks as the Blue Hose travel to Lynchburg, Va., to take on the Liberty Flames Saturday, Nov. 9, at 3:30 p.m., in a Big South match-up.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3, as well as on WKRI i91.9-FM.

The Flames (5-4, 2-1) own a 6-4 mark over the Blue Hose (3-5, 1-1).  The last game between the two schools in Lynchburg was a 27-20 Flame double overtime win.  PC led 10-6 late in the fourth quarter before Liberty scored with 1:26 left in the game to make it 13-10.  The Blue Hose came back to force overtime with a 22-yard field goal by Aaron Mayes.

Both teams scored in the first overtime before the Flames scored in the second and stopped the Blue Hose from the end zone in their try to come away with the one-touchdown win.

The contest marked just the second overtime game for the Blue Hose in Division I history.  PC’s last win came in a 31-28 decision in 2008 in Clinton, S.C.  The Flames were ranked 17th at the time.

Demarcus Rouse leads the team in rushing and is sixth in the league ... He is also tops in scoring with seven touchdowns, which puts him fourth in the conference ... In eight games this season, he has increased his production, going from averaging 42.7 yards per game in 2012 to 48.9 this year ... Tobi Antigha, who leads the Blue Hose in receiving, is second in the Big South in receptions per game and third in reception yards per game ...
