Blue Hose in Third at Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team continues to play well as they finished the first round of the Kiawah Classic tied for third with three golfers in the top-20.

Senior Colt Crymes (Athens, Ga) shot even par to lead the Blue Hose.  Just one stroke back, junior Samuel Jackson (Pelion, SC) and senior William Sigg (Augusta, Ga) are tied for 17th at 73.  Freshman Davis Parker (Augusta, Ga) sits tied for 29th at 74, while senior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, SC) is tied for 44th at 76.

South Carolina holds an eight-stroke lead over Radford, 283 to 291, at the Turtle Point Golf Club (par-72, 7,100 yards).  The Blue Hose are tied with Charleston Southern and Marquette for third, at 292, in a field of 18 teams.  The Gamecock’s Will Starke and Highlander’s Nick Brediger are tied atop the leaderboard with opening rounds of 69.
