A return trip to Wake Forest and Furman, as well as a home game against Charlotte and a trek to Wofford for the first time since 2008, highlight the 2013 Presbyterian College football schedule.

"I think our 2013 schedule will be very exciting for our fans," said Head Coach Harold Nichols, who begins his fourth year at the helm of the Blue Hose.  "We open up the year travelling to Wake Forest where we started the 2010 season and we get an opportunity to travel to Furman and Wofford.  PC also gets an upstart Charlotte program which is a FBS program in Conference USA."

The Blue Hose open the season in Winston-Salem, N.C., Aug. 31, when they take on Wake Forest, who went 5-7 last season.  It will mark the 12th meeting between the schools and first since 2010.  PC fell, 53-13, in the last meeting, but a trick play from that game, made ESPN's top plays.

Trailing 28-0, Brandon Miley took the snap from Jared Tavernier and threw the ball toward Derrick Overholt, who was to his right. The ball skipped off the ground directly to Overholt, who then picked up the ball.  The Wake Forest defense thought the pass was incomplete, but Overholt quickly threw the ball deep to Mike Ruff, who ran it in for the 68-yard touchdown completion.

PC returns to Clinton for a Sept. 7 re-match against Brevard at Bailey Memorial Stadium for Scotsman Club Day.  Both teams met on the gridiron last season with the Blue Hose coming away with the 45-10 win.  Another re-match follows Sept. 14 when PC travels up to Greenville, S.C., to take on the same Furman Paladins that earned a 31-21 win last year in Clinton.  It will be the third meeting in a row and 54th meeting overall.

Charlotte, a first-year football playing member of FBS Conference USA, comes to Clinton Sept. 28, for Parents' Weekend, before the Blue Hose head up to Spartanburg to take on Wofford for the 83rd time and first since the Terriers escaped Bailey Memorial Stadium with a close 35-28 win in 2011.

After a bye week, the Blue Hose open Big South action Oct. 19, against VMI to start a three-game home stand.  The Point Skyhawks come to town Oct. 26, for Homecoming weekend.  Point University is in West Point, Ga., and a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference.  It is the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

"We've got our normal conference foes, three of the five which are at home, which will hopefully be very beneficial for us."

PC rounds out the home stand with a Military Appreciation game Nov. 2 game against Charleston Southern, before heading to Lynchburg, Va., for a Nov. 9 game against Liberty.

"It's an exciting Division I schedule we've got for the 2013 year and we look forward to getting ready for August 31."

After a Nov. 16, match-up at Coastal Carolina, the Blue Hose finish the regular season on Youth Day with a home game against Gardner Webb Nov. 23.

All Big South games will be streamed live on the Big South Network, sponsored by State Farm, at www.BigSouthSports.com.  The radio and television schedule, including times, will be released at a later date.
