Simpson Nabs College Sports Madness All-Big South Second Team Honor

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College women’s soccer forward Sara Simpson (Columbia, S.C.) earned a selection to the College Sports Madness All-Big South Conference Second Team, the organization announced recently.

Simpson led the Blue Hose in scoring on the season, tallying six goals and five assists on the season for 17 points. All six goals and three assists came in Big South Conference contests, ending the season by scoring a goal and an assist in back-to-back against Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville.

Simpson registered at least one point in five of the last six matches with two game-winning goals and registered 10 shots on goal on the year, scoring on six.

Her 17 points also set a new Division I-era high for the Blue Hose.

The 2012 Big South Conference women’s soccer honors will be announced on Thursday at the league’s banquet.
