Two Home Matches Highlight Blue Hose Volleyball Weekend

The Presbyterian College volleyball team will look to solidify its place as one of the top teams in the Big South Conference this season as the Blue Hose host Charleston Southern Friday Oct. 26, at the Templeton Center.  The 7 p.m. match will be PC's annual "Pink Out" event with the players wearing pink to promote the fight against Breast Cancer.  The Blue Hose host Coastal Carolina at 2 p.m. Saturday as PC looks to break the two-way tie with the Chanticleers at the number two spot in the league standings.

Charleston Southern is 11-16 overall and 4-5 in the Big South.  Sydney Tracy leads in kills with 212, while Kayla Klinger paces the squad in kills per game with 2.82.  Kirsten Struksnes leads with 759 digs, while Ashley Higgenbothem is tops for the Bucs with 357.

Coastal Carolina is 8-12 overall and 6-3 in the Big South.  Gabriella Horvath leads the team in kills (236, as well as kills per game (2.81).  Sam Skryd paces the squad defensively with 212 digs, while Lauren Alejo leads in assists with 688.

The Blue Hose (9-15 overall) are off to one of their best conference starts in Division I history with a 6-3 league mark.  Ashtin Frank, with her team-leading 859 assists, leads the conference with 10.35 a game.  Mary Trimpe paces the team defensively with 4.72 digs a game, which is good enough for first in the Big South.  She is also averaging 0.43 aces to lead the conference.

Presley Mabrey, who leads the Blue Hose with 3.05 kills per game, is third in the league.  Rachel Hall leads the team in hitting percentage with her .253.  She is averaging 2.44 kills per game.
