Jackson Takes 11th At Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. - The Presbyterian College men's golf team finished sixth at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate with a score of 876 (289, 301, 286). The Blue Hose moved up four places on Tuesday with their strong final round on the par-70 course.

Sophomore Samuel Jackson (Pelion, S.C.) shot a three-under 67 for the final round to move into 11th place with a score of 214 (74, 73, 67). Junior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, S.C.) shot even par 70 on the final day to move up to tie for 20th at 217 (71, 76, 70).

Freshman Davis Parker (Augusta, Ga.) shot a collegiate-best 218 (72, 71, 75) to finish 8-over par and tie for 27th. Senior Matt Sizemore (Richmond, Va.) recovered from a second-round slip to shoot 229 (73, 82, 74) and finish tied for 62nd. Sophomore Charlie Smiley (Savannah, Ga.) shot 234 (73, 81, 80) to tie for 73rd.

Lynn University shot 854 (290, 282, 282) to take a one-stroke win over James Madison (855; 281, 289, 285). High Point's Chase Wilson shot 208 (69, 68, 71) to win individual medalist honors.

The men will return to play at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate from October 27-30, at Kiawah Island, S.C.
