Parker In 13th At Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. - The Presbyterian College men's golf team finished round two of the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate with a two-round score of 590 (289, 301). Freshman Davis Parker finished tied for 13th and is one stroke out of the top-ten.

Parker (Augusta, Ga.) improved during the second round to finish at 143 (72, 71) on the par-70 course. Sophomore Samuel Jackson (Pelion, S.C.) sits four strokes back at 147 (74, 73) tied for 33rd with junior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, S.C.) (147; 71, 76). Sophomore Charlie Smiley (Savannah, Ga.) is tied for 66th at 154 (73, 81) while senior Matt Sizemore (Richmond, Va.) is tied for 73rd at 155 (73, 82).

James Madison leads the tournament after posting a 281 in round one and 289 for round two. Lynn University moved into second, two strokes back, at 572 (290, 282).  Appalachian State's Casey Komline is in first with a two-round score of 135 (68, 67).

The Mountaineers are hosting the three-round tournament at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club on their par-70, 6,718-yard course. The final round will be played on Tuesday afternoon.
