Blue Hose Open Big South Slate at VMI

The Presbyterian College football team travels to Lexington, Va., this Saturday to take on the Keydets of VMI in the Big South opener for both teams.  Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN3.

The Blue Hose are 2-3 after defeating Davidson 28-13 last weekend.  L.J. Perry led off the scoring with an interception touchdown return in the first quarter.  After a quiet second quarter, the Blue Hose used two TDs by Demarcus Rouse and one by Joel Ruiz, off a fake field goal attempt, to score 21 unanswered in the second half.  Bryson Brindle posted a career-high three sacks, two of which ended deep Davidson drives.  His performance earned him the Crons Brand Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

VMI is 1-3 overall after falling to Navy, 3-41, two weeks ago.  The Keydets, who are coming off a bye week, defeated Chowan, 24-17, Sept. 8, for their lone win.

Five football student-athletes earned a prestigious honor this summer as they were named to the Honor Council ... Tamyn Garrick, John Hardy, Kaleb Griffin, J.J. Russell and Joe Wideman were chosen to serve on a panel consisting roughly of 55 members that ensure the integrity of all academic and student life affairs ... As a result of the Honor Code being a cornerstone of the PC community, students can trust one another and leave items unattended ... Professors can issue take home tests and can leave testing rooms unattended. In general, the Honor Code is one of PC's greatest assets and traditions ...
