ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's cross country team finished 28th at the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational on Saturday morning. Sophomore Gabriele Lesieur led the Blue Hose again, running her fastest time of the season.

Lesieur (Augusta, Ga.) led the Blue Hose with a time of 20:45, a six-second improvement since running 20:51 at South Carolina. Coincidentally, Lesieur also ran six seconds faster than the program's record on the Winthrop course (20:51), established in 2007 by Lauren Bowers.

Sophomore Grace Lifer (Hilton Head, S.C.) rounded out the scoring five, running 26:02.

Winthrop hosted 31 women's schools as well as 27 men's, including four nationally ranked teams and a total of nine Big South Conference schools on the same course that will host the 2012 Big South Championships on Oct. 27.

Appalachian State won the women's title with a low score of 58 points. The Mountaineers' Amanda Hamilton and Allison Cook took first and second place with times of 18:10 and 18:13. Liberty finished at a close second with 70 points. Coastal Carolina (168) finished third, Wofford (169) fourth, and UNC-Asheville (180) fifth. Full results are attached to this article.
