CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's basketball team will play 12 home games and challenge some of the region's top teams as part an ambitious 2012-13 schedule, head coach Ronny Fisher announced today in releasing the season schedule.

The Blue Hose kick off the season with road games against Clemson, Georgia and Duke and host a slew of exciting opponents as part of the program's first full season in Division I.

"We are excited about the upcoming season and thrilled by our program's first opportunity to compete for a Big South Conference Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament," said Fisher. "With that in mind, we have put together one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. We jump right into the fire with games at Clemson, Georgia and Duke in the first week of the season. We are excited about trips to NC State, Eastern Kentucky and Central Florida in addition to our other non-conference games. With the difficult road schedule, each of our 12 home games will be critical and we look forward to great support inside the Templeton Center."

The campaign begins on November 11, with a Sunday trip to Clemson. The two sides have met three times, with the last clash coming in the 2010-11 season and the Blue Hose will look to avenge a narrow loss to the Tigers.

The team then heads to 2012 NCAA Tournament participant Georgia for a Wednesday, November 14 tilt before heading to Duke on Saturday, November 17. The trip to Durham, N.C., marks PC's first-ever meeting against the Blue Devils.

PC opens its home schedule with a pair of back-to-back dates on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20. The Blue Hose square off first against Southern Wesleyan at 7 p.m. and will aim to win their sixth straight against the Warriors before hosting SC State on Tuesday night.

A road trip to NC Central awaits the squad before opening Big South Conference play with a home date against Charleston Southern on Wednesday, November 28. PC closed the 2011-12 campaign with a home 77-68 victory over the Buccaneers.

The team then plays another back-to-back series, this time against Eastern Kentucky and Marshall in Richmond, Ky. After a 10-day break from competition, the Blue Hose return home to battle Brevard on Tuesday, December 11.

Non-conference play ends with a bang as PC travels to NC State and Central Florida, the second-ever meeting against the Wolfpack and the first against the Knights.

After the holidays, Big South Conference action resumes with a home contest against Coastal Carolina on Saturday, December 29. The team then heads to Liberty for its only game of the season against the Flames and travels to Campbell before returning to Templeton Center to face Longwood and Radford on January 10 and 12, respectively.

The team will become familiar with nearby league opponents as road games against UNC Asheville and Winthrop follow before a three-game homestand against Gardner-Webb (January 24), Winthrop (January 31) and UNC Asheville (February 2).

PC then hits the road for three games against Gardner-Webb, Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern.

The home slate ends with a pair of games against Campbell (February 21) and High Point (February 23). With the addition of Longwood, PC only plays one game this season against Liberty and High Point.

The Blue Hose close out the regular season with road games at Radford and Longwood.
