Men's Golf Releases Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's golf schedule was released on Monday by head coach Thomas Addison. The team will compete in nine total tournaments with two new additions to the familiar schedule.

The Blue Hose will open their 2012 fall season by traveling to the Raines Development Group/Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion from September 9-11. The Patriots will host the annual event at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, S.C. Last year PC's sophomore Samuel Jackson (Pelion, S.C.) tied for 60th at 225 (76, 75, 74). The Blue Hose finished 15th at 902 (308, 303, 292).

PC will then compete for the first time at the Rees Jones Invitational from September 30-October 2. South Carolina will host the event at the Haig Point Club on Daufuskie Island, S.C. The Gamecocks narrowly missed winning their third title in four years last season as the Kennesaw State Owls took home the title with a score of 894.

From October 14-16, PC will return to the Donald Ross Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State at the Mimosa Hills Golf Club in Morganton, N.C. Last year the Blue Hose finished third at 870 (294, 285, 291).  Senior Matt Sizemore (Richmond, Va.) earned co-medalist honors at 203 (66, 66, 71) on the par-70 course, breaking the program record, and earned Big South Conference Golfer of the Week honors.

To end their fall season, PC will compete at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate from October 27-30. Charleston Southern will host the event at the Turtle Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island, S.C. Last year the Blue Hose finished tied for 10th with a three-round score of 924 (307, 306, 311). Sizemore and junior William Sigg (August, Ga.) both tied for 28th with scores of 228 to lead the Blue Hose.

From February 17-19, PC opens their spring season at the Wexford Intercollegiate. Francis Marion will host the event at the Wexford Plantation on Hilton Head Island, S.C. Last year, PC finished 5th with a three-round score of 909 (309, 297, 303) and led all teams with 37 total birdies. Sigg earned his first collegiate top-ten finish with a third place showing at 221 (76, 72, 73).

PC will then travel for the first time to the Samford Intercollegiate from March 3-5. Samford will look to repeat as champions as they host at the Hoover Country Club in Hoover, Alabama. Last year the Bulldogs hit 882 (291, 288, 303) to earn their second title in three seasons.

From March 10-12, PC will compete at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational hosted by USC-Aiken at the Palmetto Golf Course in Aiken, S.C. Last year the Blue Hose tied for 12th at 896 (305, 293, 298) on the par-70 course. Sizemore slowly recovered from a +8 round one to tie for 52nd at 225 (78, 75, 72).

In their final tune-up of the year, PC will compete from April 14-16 at the Wofford Invitational hosted by Wofford at the Spartanburg Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. Last year, the Blue Hose finished 14th with a three-round score of 893 (302, 296, 295) and were led by junior Carter Davis (Spartanburg, S.C.) who shot his collegiate-best 221 (74, 75, 72) to tie for 37th.

From April 21-24, PC will compete at the 2013 Big South Championship at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. The Patriot Club will be hosting the Big South Men's Golf Championship for the seventh time, as the course hosted the event in 2005 as well as from 2008-12.
