Cross Country Heads To Terrier Relays On Saturday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Presbyterian College cross country coach Thad Palmer will take a group of freshmen and sophomore runners to compete at the 2nd Annual Terrier Relays on Saturday afternoon. It will be the first track meet for the Blue Hose since the spring of 2008.

The first track event is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m., the men's steeplechase. The Blue Hose will be competing only in the Distance Medley Relay (1200, 400, 800, 1600) scheduled for 2:25 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.

Registered for the men's DMR are three sophomores and one freshman: Ryan Wasilewski, Kevin Quan, Richard Taylor, and Jordan Huffstetler.  Registered for the women's DMR are four freshmen: Jessica Hatchell, Grace Lifer, Jennifer Lockman, and Gabriele Lesieur.

Registered teams include: Brevard, Claflin, Coach M Consulting, Davidson, Furman, Limestone, Livingstone, Mars Hill, Montreat, Morris, North Greenville, Salem, Spartanburg Methodist, UNC Pembroke, USC Aiken, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, Wingate, and Wofford.

In compliance with the NCAA, cross-country only programs are allowed to take their teams to no more than five track meets during their non-championship segement. PC last traveled to an indoor meet at South Carolina in February of 2008 and an outdoor meet at Winthrop that March.

Wofford will host the meet at Spartanburg High School, with the field events taking place at an offsite location. There is no entry fee, but a ten-dollar fee will be charged for parking.
