Senior Brian Davis (Charlotte, N.C.) was named to the Defensive Tackle Watch List by the College Football Performance Awards.

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

Davis was named National Defensive Lineman of the Week by CFPA for his eight-tackle, four tackles for loss effort in the win over Gardner-Webb last season.  He also garnered Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors for his effort

Davis accounted for 40 tackles on the year, including 21 solo stops.  He Notched 7.5 tackles for a loss, including 5.5 sacks and was second in the Big South in sacks and tied for ninth in tackles for a loss.  Davis was also in the top 50 in the conference in tackles per game.
