Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team will battle High Point at home in the Templeton Center on Friday night at 6 p.m. for first place in the Big South. The Blue Hose and the Panthers, both 4-1 in conference matches, are both looking for sole possession of the top of the standings.
The Blue Hose are coming off a five-set loss at the hands of Charleston Southern on Tuesday night. Reigning Big South Rookie of the Week Erin Cooke collected her second triple-double (11 kills, 17 assists, 11 digs) in three matches against the Bucs. Junior Erin Eulitz (15 kills, 15 digs) and freshman Lauren Talbert (12 kills, 17 digs) each recorded a double-double.
Cooke continues to lead the Blue Hose attack with a team-high 159 kills on the year. She has also added 127 assists and 70 digs. Sophomore Sierra Jones paces PC with 326 assists this season. Reigning Big South Player of the Week sophomore Sydney De Jong leads PC with 66 total blocks and has also collected 116 kills. Redshirt junior Daley Gosnell has tallied a team-high 276 digs. Eulitz sits second on the squad in both kills, 123, and digs, 139.
High Point is 8-8 overall this season. On Tuesday, the Panthers swept Campbell for their fourth Big South win. Their only loss in conference play came against Winthrop, who swept them on Saturday, September 22. Three of their four Big South victories have been sweeps, Gardner-Webb, Radford, and Campbell. The Panthers other victory came when they defeated USC Upstate in four sets.
