Clinton, S.C. - The Presbyterian College lacrosse team and head coach Bob Dachille have announced the signing of nine incoming freshmen. The group consists of one goal keeper, four midfielders, two defenders and two attacks.
“We are remarkably excited to welcome a deep, talented 2018 class to the PC Lacrosse family,” said coach Dachille. “We have added key players to every position on the field and expect them to not only help our depth, but make an impact right away. These girls are not only phenomenal athletes, but they are successful in the classroom and in the community, making them a perfect fit for our program. These signings were another huge step forward for our program and we can’t wait to get them on campus in Fall 2018.”
Madison Mackenzie Berg – Midfield – 5’8 – Keller, Texas (Keller HS)
High School: Four years on varsity lacrosse and cross country… Won the lacrosse state championship in 2016 and cross country state championship in 2016 and 2017… Was MVP of the State Championship game, All-District in 2015 and 2016 and All-State Honorable Mention in 2015 and 2016… Member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Club and Chemistry Club… Other various forms of community service.
Personal: Chose PC because it is a good fit for her academically and athletically, she loves the staff and team… Cites her high school coach Megan Schroeder as her biggest influence, she has always inspired her to work hard all the time which has made her a better player and teammate. Lauren Menyee Bergeson – Midfield – 5’5 – Taylors, S.C. (Eastside HS)
High School: Has played all four years at midfield, scoring 132 goals so far…Named to the All-State Second Team as a Sophomore, named to the All-State First Team as a Junior… Named the National Tournament MVP as a member of the South Carolina State Team in 2017 … Member of her High School Honor Roll and Beta Club.
Personal: Chose PC because it is a great distance from home and she gets to continue playing lacrosse… Cites Marie McCool as her biggest influence because she is an amazing athlete that she aspires to be as good as someday… Her goal while at PC is to help the team win more games… Daughter of Robert and Michelle Bergeson… Born in Durham, N.H.
Carington Grace Cantarella – MF/Defense – 5’6 – Greer, S.C. (Riverside HS)
High School: Four-year letter winner in lacrosse at Riverside High School… Was the team captain and Defender of the Year… Finished high school with 37 career assists and 115 ground balls… Made it to the State Semifinals as a junior and Second Round as a senior… President of her schools Biology Club, member of the Beta Club, National Honors Society, leader of Revive and Warrior of the Month… Participated in Revive, Younglife and FCA… Worked at a local Soup Kitchen and Humane Society.
Personal: Chose PC because she fell in love with the school the first time she visited and is very excited to become a part of the PC lacrosse program… Her parents have been the biggest influence on the athlete she is today, they were both always there for her and willing to help her practice and improve. They have always pushed her to do her best and help her to get there. Alyssa Kaitlyn Cooke – MF/Defense – 5’4 – Wilmington. N.C. (Hoggard HS)
High School: Four-year player at Hoggard HS… Through her first three seasons has compiled 37 goals, 13 assists with 60 ground balls and 84 draw controls… Three-time conference champions and made it to the 4th Round of the NCHSAA Playoffs her sophomore and junior years… Was named to the Mideastern Conference (MEC) Honorable Mention Team as a sophomore and First Team All-MEC and First Team All-Area as a junior… A member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society as a senior as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Student Council and Legacy Club (Student Section).

Ryann Doyle - Attack – 5’10 – Seymour, Tenn. (Seymour HS)
High School: Four-year starter at Seymour HS… Named to the All-Region Team as a Freshman, Sophomore and Junior… Named All-State as a Sophomore and Junior… Brine All-America selection… Led team in goals, assists and points every season… Scored 281 goals and 99 assists prior to her senior season… Team Captain as a Sophomore and Junior.
Paige Alexandra Gacek – Defense – 5’6 – Syracuse, N.Y. (Westhill HS)
High School: Four-year defensive starter on her high school lacrosse team… Named All-League Honorable Mention as a Freshman and Junior, Second Team All-League as a sophomore… Won the Scholar Athlete Award as a junior… Member of the Honor Roll throughout her high school years as well as the National Society of High School Scholars… Participated in the Character Education Club and Community Wide Dialogue… Has served as a volunteer in her local community in many different capacities.

Meredith Kathryn Moore – Defense – 5’5 – Roswell, Ga. (Fellowship Christian School)

Heidi Marie Shafer – Goalkeeper – 5’9 –Cumming, Ga. (Lambert HS)
High School: Ran cross country, played lacrosse and was the wrestling manager… Member of the Brine All-America Lacrosse National Classic Team Georgia in 2016 and 2017, Under Armour All-America Lacrosse 2018 Uncommitted Team and the US Lacrosse National Team Georgia… Made the Final Four in the 2016-17 season… Has worked as a Youth Lacrosse Coach and been a lifeguard and swim instructor.
Personal: Chose PC because it has a small town feel and is close enough her parents can come see her play… Cites her lacrosse coaches Jim Scheurlein and Jim Boisjolie as her biggest influence.
