The Presbyterian College women’s basketball team and recruiting coordinator, Megan Buckland, announced the addition of Bria Tene Gibbs to the Blue Hose’s 2018 Signing Class.

“Bria is a strong player who will bring skill and experience to our program,” said coach Buckland. “She comes from a very successful high school and AAU program and she will be a tremendous addition both on and off the court. She is a skilled and smart post player who will come in ready to compete. I am excited to see her grow as a player and person during her time at PC.”

Bria Tene Gibbs – Forward – 5’10 – Greensboro, N.C. (Northwest Guilford)

High School: Four-year member of the varsity basketball team… Her team won four conference championships, four Final Four appearances, three State Championship appearances and won back to back 4A State Titles… Named Rookie of the Year as a freshman, All-Conference as a junior and senior, All-Tournament as a junior and senior, Team Captain as a junior and senior, Viking Award winner as a senior, All-Area as a senior, All-District as a senior and All-Star game as a senior… Averaged 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists… Recipient of the Teacher Choice Award two times, Certificate of Excellence at Weaver Academy of Advanced Technology in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access… Was a member of Media Services in high school and volunteered her summer’s at a camp for Special Needs children for two years.

Personal: Chose PC because the academics are great and she liked the feel of the campus and basketball team… Her parents have been her biggest influence in life as an athlete. They are always there to support her and believe in her even when she doesn’t believe in herself. They never give up on her and push her past her limits because they know how good she could be… Daughter of Tucker Gibbs and Bridget Patterson… Born in Greensboro, N.C.

This gives the Blue Hose three incoming freshmen in the fall of 2018 as Gibbs joins the previously signed Trinity Noel Johnson and Shamani Kathleen Stafford.
