The Presbyterian College softball team opens the 2018 season at the Kickin’ Chicken Classic Feb. 9-11, at the Coastal Carolina Softball Complex in Conway, S.C.

PC begins play Friday morning at 9:30 a.m., against St. Francis, before taking on UNCG at 12 p.m.  Saturday’s action kicks off at 9:30 a.m., with Iowa State, then a rematch with the Red Flash at noon.  The Blue Hose round out tournament action Sunday with a 2:30 p.m., game against host Coastal Carolina.

Among the 11 returning in 2018 is junior Jonnie Petree finished the season on an eight-game hitting and on base streak.  Gone is Hope Rogers, who ended the season leading the team in batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, total bases, and assists.  Junior Megan Anderson is back as well after leading the team in home runs with five. 

Senior Alex Cook closed out 2017 leading the team in ERA, appearances, saves, and strikeouts. Cook’s 31 appearances ranked fifth in the PC Division I Season Record book, her 3.00 ERA top 10, her five saves first.

The Blue Hose open the home season Wednesday, Feb. 14, with a doubleheader against Furman.  First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
