The Presbyterian College Athletic Department released the men’s and women’s cross country schedules for the fall of 2017 on Friday. The Blue Hose will compete in seven races including the Big South Championship Meet hosted by Liberty on Saturday, October 28.

“I am happy with how our schedule has turned out for this year,” head coach Thad Palmer said. “We are returning to some familiar races while also making a few exciting changes and seeing courses we haven’t raced on for quite some time. The team is really looking forward to this fall.”

The season will begin with the first nighttime race in program history on Friday, September 1. Queens will be hosting the Charlotte Twilight at Freedom Park with the women’s race set to begin at 8 pm and followed by the men's race at 8:30 pm.

After an off week, both teams will race at familiar invitationals hosted by Winthrop (September 16) and UNC Asheville (September 23). Then on September 30, the Blue Hose will return to the Will Wilson Invitational for the first time since 2008. The Citadel will be hosting at James Island County Park.

On October 13, Palmer’s teams will head to McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC, for another invitational hosted by Queens. It will be PC’s first race on the notable course since 2013.

The regular season will end with Liberty hosting the 2017 Big South Championship Meet on Saturday, October 28, on their newly constructed course. Last season PC women’s team finished a program-best seventh place while the men’s team had its first individual runner finish in the top-25.

On Friday, November 10, the University of Virginia will again host the DI Southeast Regional at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. The men will compete in the 10k championship while the women compete in the 6k championship.
