CLINTON, SC – The Presbyterian College men's cross country team announced the addition of two runners to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2017.
“We are excited to have signed Banner and Neel,” said head coach Thad Palmer. “Both had good visits and are extremely talented student-athletes. There is no doubt that they will positively impact the team and campus. We are all eager for the fall.”
Banner Plumb (Roanoke, VA) ran five seasons of cross country and track at Cave Spring High School for head coach Tommy Maguire. He earned all-state honors twice and was also named to Footlocker's all-south team on two occasions. Plumb won the 2016 Nike Cross Country Southeast Regional meet with a PR of 16:08 and led his team to a 4th place showing among Virginia high schools. He was voted team captain his junior and senior seasons and plans to major in engineering at PC.
Neel Taber (Greer, SC) ran six seasons of cross country and track at nearby Riverside High School for head coach Eric Cummings. His PR of 16:08 came with a third place finish at the 2015 Starlight Reservation Run. Taber was a team captain his junior and senior seasons and was a top-5 runner on two SCHSL State Cross Country Championship teams (2014, 2016). As a senior, he ran 16:39 at the State Meet to finish 20th overall and was selected to participate in the annual Shrine Bowl Run. Taber plans to be Pre-Med at PC.
