Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla - The Presbyterian College men’s golf team ended day one of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular tied for ninth place with a combined score of 614 (304, 310). The Blue Hose had four golfers within four strokes of each other with James Scott leading the way in a 28th place tie. George Mason is hosting the three-round event at the Mission Inn Resort & Club (par-72, 6,884 yards).
Scott shot 152 (76, 76) and nearly finished the second round at +2. However, a triple bogey on the 4th hole set him back three strokes. Thankfully the sophomore recovered with a birdie on hole No. 5 to end the day at only +4. Cole Patterson (153), Hayden Ploeger (154) and Carson Spears (155) finished the day mere strokes off Scott. Freshman John David Chambers shot 169 (82, 87).
George Washington’s Christian Cichan is in first place at 141 (71, 70). TCU has a 10-stroke lead for first at 584 (301, 283).
