CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team will play the first of seven straight conference matches on Sunday when they play host to Campbell at 1 p.m. at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C.
The Blue Hose cruised to a 7-0 victory over Newberry on Wednesday afternoon to improve to 10-4 on the year. Campbell enters the weekend with 5-7 record and a 2-2 mark in the Big South, as they travel to Gardner-Webb on Friday before taking on the Blue Hose on Sunday. The Camels claimed a 4-2 win over PC last season in a shortened match that saw only singles played.
Tracy Johnson continues to lead PC at the top of the lineup with an 11-2 mark in singles action this season. Brittany Nuttall improved to 10-3 on the season with a win over the Wolves, while Nicole Croxton now sits at 8-3 in singles action.
PC’s freshmen continue to showcase their skills with all three recording a win in the Newberry match. Beth Taylor improved to 7-4 on the season with her first win at No. 2, while Katie Thompson pushed her record to 6-2 with a win at No. 5. Mary Kathryn Dickson remained unbeaten in singles play with a win at No. 6 to go to 4-0 on the year. Dickson and Thompson also improved to 5-0 as a doubles pair with a win at No. 3 against the Wolves.
