The Presbyterian College Athletic Department released the men’s and women’s cross country schedules for the fall of 2016 on Thursday. The Blue Hose will compete in seven races including the Big South Championship Meet hosted by UNC Asheville on Friday, October 28.
PC will open the season with a 5k for both teams at the Carolina Challenge on Saturday, September 3. Then, over the next two weekends, they will return to race at a pair of familiar courses at the Furman and Winthrop Invitationals.
After an off week, both teams will travel to UNC Asheville for the Big South Championship Preview Meet on Saturday, October 1. The Blue Hose will then compete for the first time at the Front Runner Invitational, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, on the afternoon of Saturday, October 15.
To end the the regular season, UNCA will host the 2016 Big South Championship Meet at the Asheville Christian Academy on Friday, October 28. Last season PC saw program-best finishes for both teams at the championship race on top of six program records set during the season.
On Friday, November 11, the University of Virginia will again host the DI Southeast Regional at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, VA. The men will compete in the 10k championship while the women compete in the 6k championship.
