SKILLMAN, N.J. - Six members of the Presbyterian College men's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athletes, the organization has announced. The program also earned an ITA All-Academic Team honor for a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2.
PC’s six honorees stand as the most of any Big South Conference school.
Danny Bruce (Marietta, Ga.), Diego Manzanas (Madrid, Spain), Joel Roberts (Summerville, S.C.), Lukas Luckemeier (Greven, Germany), Steven Weaver (Charleston, S.C.) and Will Baird (Raleigh, N.C.) earned Scholar Athlete honors by meeting the ITA's academic requirements. The honor marks the third straight for Bruce and the second for Manzanas.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year). The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
