Dee Nichols is in her first year at Presbyterian College as an Assistant Director of Athletics for compliance.

Nichols returns to PC after spending the previous five years as a health and physical education teacher at Rocky Hill School East in Greenwich, R.I.

Nichols brings an abundance of collegiate experiecne with her, having served as the assistant compliance director at Rhode Island from 2000-2003. During that time, she worked with Atlantic 10 special assistance funds, collected countable athletic related activity for 23 sports, maintained communication with 17 coaches on daily issues and processed student-athlete information for the NCAA Clearinghouse. She also updated financial aid and scholarship information. During her last two years at Rhode Island, Nichols served as a physical education instructor and university supervisor.

After earning her undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern in 1991 in health and physical education, Nichols pursued her master’s, which she earned from Georgia Southern, in 1993.

From 1990-1993, she was Georgia Southern’s assistant women’s volleyball coach. There, she performed on-the-court coaching duties and coordinated the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

In 1993, she added being a physical education instructor to her duties. A year later, Nichols took over the reigns of the volleyball program. For three years, she designed and oversaw recruiting coordination, managed the budget and supervised two assistant coaches while being in charge of the Division I program.

In 1996, Nichols stepped down from being the head volleyball coach to assist the women’s basketball team. She continued recruiting prospective student-athletes, performed on-the-court duties and supervised the strength and conditioning program for the squad.

A year later, Nichols taught physical education at M.S. Bailey Elementary and Joana Elementray.

From 1998-2000, Nichols came on board at PC as an administrative assistant. During her time with the Blue Hose, she coordinated ticket sales, distributed prospective student-athlete complimentary football tickets, managed ticket and game-day gate accounts and managed the football recruiting database. Nichols also distributed correspondence to prospective student-athletes.

Nichols is married to Harold Nichols. The couple has three children. They have an older daughter, Cassie, and twins, Corey and Cameron. The family resides in Clinton.
