CLINTON, S.C. ? Presbyterian College head softball coach Dave Majeski, in conjunction with the athletic department, is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Hopper for the upcoming 2010 season.
“We are excited about having Rachel on the team,” Majeski said. “She fills the need at that position with the graduation of Laura Tate Owings. It is also great to have another local talent on our squad.”
Hopper spent last season at South Atlantic Conference member Tusculum College. A 5-10 rising sophomore, Hopper caught a year ago.
A 2008 graduate of Hillcrest H.S., Hopper batted .255 while leading her team with 37 hits, three home runs and 21 RBI. Behind the plate, Hopper tallied a .989 fielding percentage.
At Hillcrest H.S., Hopper was a three-sport letterwinner in soccer, basketball and softball. In 2007, she garnered all-region accolades. She holds the school's career home run mark.
Majeski and his staff are excited about the addition to the team and the upcoming 2010 campaign.
