Edisto Island, S.C. – Julie Hillestad shot a collegiate-best 221 (73, 71, 77) to tie for 17th and lead the Presbyterian College women’s golf team to a 10th place showing at the Edisto Island Invitational on Monday. The Blue Hose combined for 916 (300, 299, 317) on the par-71, 5902-yard course at The Plantation Course at Edisto.


Hillestad had a team-high 34 pars and recorded a collegiate-best round of even-par 71 during round two. The 54-hole best also marked the first time the reigning "Big South Freshman Golfer of the Week" led PC.


Maiken Bing Paulsen (t24) finished a few strokes back at 224 (75, 70, 79). Ann Elizabeth Gore (38) shot 231 (70, 78, 83). Gore (-1), Paulsen (-1) and Hillestad (E) all had rounds of par-or-better during the tournament.


Serina Combs (t58) shot 240 (82, 80, 78), and Taylor Gardner (78) rounded out the team at 258 (85, 85, 88).


North Florida defeated the field of 16 teams with a combined score of 867. Delaware’s Thitaree Sakulbunpanich and James Madison’s Kate Owens earned co-medalist honors with scores of 207 (-6).


Presbyterian College will conclude their regular season at the Big South Women’s Golf Championship from April 12-14 at The Patriot GC in Ninety Six, S.C.
