Georgia Tech used two runs in the fourth and two in the sixth to take a 5-1 win over the Presbyterian College softball team in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Atlanta, Ga.

GT 5, PC 1

Pitching was solid on both sides early in the game with four combined hits through the first three innings.  Georgia Tech had three, with PC posting one, a double from Courtney White in the second inning.  The Yellow Jackets did get a run across in the first inning, however.  Katie Krzus hit a two-out double to left, with Rebecca Prairie brining her home with a RBI single the next at-bat, giving the home team the early 1-0 lead.

The Yellow Jackets loaded the bases in the fourth off a walk and back to back singles.  Lilly Hooper was hit by a pitch to bring in the second run of the game, while a PC error resulted in the third run as Georgia Tech opened up a 3-0 lead.

Presley Bissett led off the fifth inning with a single to right.  She advanced to second off a ground out and to third off a Chelsea Lyons single.  She scored off a GT error to make it 3-1.  That would be as close as the Blue Hose would get as Georgia Tech added two more in the sixth off a two-run home run by Hooper, to give the Yellow Jackets the final 5-1 win.

PC finished with one run, four hits, and one error, with Bissett, White, Camryn Alverson, and Lyons each recording one hit apiece.  Alex Cook (0-14) went 4.0 innings and gave up three runs and five hits.

Georgia Tech posted five runs off seven hits and two errors.  Prairie and Kelsey Chisholm led GT in hits with two, with Hooper pacing the team in RBI with three.  Brooke Barfield (3-2) pitched a complete game, surrendering four hits and one run.  She struck out five.

PC drops to 3-37 overall, while Georgia Tech improves to 23-20.
