A three-run home run in the third inning snapped a scoreless deadlock and propelled Georgia State to the 3-0 win over the Presbyterian College softball team in action Wednesday evening in Atlanta, Ga.  Jonnie Petree paced the Blue Hose, going two-for-three.

GSU 3, PC 0

A solid pitching duel for much of the game, neither team could get much going, with the Blue Hose and Panthers each coming away with just four hits apiece.  Three of the four GSU hits came in the bottom of the third with two outs on the board.  Brenna Skalski and Reagan Morgan collected back to back singles, with Ivie Drake bringing herself and the two runners home off a three-run home run to left field, to give the home team the 3-0 lead.

Petree recorded her second hit of the game with a single to short with one out in the sixth.  She stole second to put herself in scoring position but a groundout and fly out ended the potential rally.

Kinsley Jennings (6-2) took the win for GSU, going 7.0 innings and striking out six, while giving up four hits.  Kaylee Allen (0-9) surrendered three runs off four hits, while striking out two.

Aside from Petree and her two hits, Megan Anderson and Macy Hyatt added a hit apiece.  Skalski led GSU with two hits, with Drake pacing the team with three RBI, off her one hit on the afternoon.

PC recorded one error and stranded three runners, while GSU had no errors, and left two on base.

For the Record

PC drops to 1-17 overall, while Georgia State improves to 13-8.
