Farmville, Va. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose (4-5-2, 2-1-1) recorded their third shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon at Longwood (0-10-1, 0-3-0) defeating the Lancers 1-0. The Blue Hose won in shutout fashion on the road despite eight of the 11 starters being freshmen.

How it happened:

Despite only scoring one goal in the contest the Blue Hose controlled the match from the beginning. Longwood took two corner kicks and had one shot on goal in the first 12 minutes but never threatened the rest of the way.

The onslaught of PC shots began just seven minutes in to the contest as Plamen Mangarov took a shot that was blocked. The Blue Hose would take 11 shots and five corner kicks in the first half but only two of those shots were on target.

Longwood threatened for the final time as they had their third shot and final shot of the game just two minutes into the second half. Connor Behrend recorded his second and final save.

Presbyterian would get on the board at the 76:14 mark of the contest as Mangarov took a cross by Kellan O’Hara and scored the ball in the far post. There would only be one shot for either team the remainder of the game.

Longwood would take a corner with only 12 seconds left in the contest but were unable to get a shot off, and PC held on for the 1-0 win.
